Surely, they didn't know what to do with the rest of the page if they said

Hehe :))Yeah....:) and the number of side effects indicated on some tablets beat the number of chemicals that go into them!!
well... true. we all get hundreds of mails like these... but then there are plausible explanations to these... I've been on the other end of these cases sometimes.
In some cases, to cover their asses legally, they have to put all the side effects. In any case, I thin it's the lesser of the evils. Think abt all the ppl who suffer bcoz they are not warned abt a substance in the product that they are alleergic to.
In the 9am-9pm case... it could be a franchise wide format for a menu... that was filled in specifically to the particular store outlet. It's cheaper for them to print this sometimes than to alter each to suit common sense.
Just possible explanations.
Also it's not exclusive to their wrnings.
Wot ant redundant coding and redundant commenting (to name a few crackerjack practices in the "intellectual" world!!
Shouldnt it be "9AM to 9PM EST" or whatever is the appropriate timezone to be specific and legally safe? Otherwise we can sue them ;-)
Harish, Mohan: I agree, I agree :) I knew that the warning on the gym equipment and the the ones on tablets is a precautionary measure to avoid getting sued; but the one abt the timings chart, i didn't know. And I'm not at all saying that these things don't make sense, these ppl know from experience that it's better to be safe than sorry. Just that we r not used to seeing them in India, for obvious reasons.
